This has been one of those totally and completely productive days at work. Just about every single outstanding thing I got done, and I did it all without even having my student worker here today. Go me. :)
And tonight we're having my ILs over for dinner. It's the first time we've invited them since we moved in, and even though the place is no where near being completed, we figured it would be a nice thing to do. I have chili simmering in the crock pot at home, a french baguette on the counter, salad mix in the fridge, and I'm making cranberry sorbet for dessert (the ice cream maker bowl is in the freezer and I made the syrup yesterday so all I have to do is turn the machine on when I get home and pour in the syrup. Go-go-yuppie-gadgets.), along with some biscotti and coffee. Not too bad. I even have fresh flowers for the dining room table. It's almost scary how "Martha" I can be given the opportunity.
Saturday involves plans for weeding the front and back yard. Must remember two things - 1) sunblock 2)Ibuprofen. My student worker (same one I mentioned earlier) weeded her garden last weekend and ended up with a 2nd degree sunburn even though it was cloudy, and muscles that were sore for three days. I'd like to avoid both of those things, especially since I'm hoping we can finally pick up the treadmill from B's grandfather and a sunburn and sore muscles will put a significant damper on that possibility.
