I stepped off the plane last Thursday and realized that I really don't want to be here. I want to be back in Hawaii. The sky is bluer, the hills are greener, the water's clearer, people speak with a song in their voices, and rainbows are a daily part of life. I want to be back on the cruise ship. Food like you wouldn't believe, service people who went out of their way to make sure I was happy, good entertainment, and being rocked to sleep every night by gentle ocean swells. The Los Angeles area is cold (yes, I know it's a relative thing), smoggy, and colorless. Sigh. I guess that's why they call it a vacation.

We spent the better part of the weekend doing a whole lot of nothing. Some laundry, a few errands at the store, a trip to Ikea (you knew that was coming, right?), and we put up our good old Walmart brand fake Christmas tree which says is 6 ft tall, but is maybe four and a half feet in reality - barely reaching six feet with the stand and the tree topper. It's non-religious, but mighty purdy.

I talked to Keely for a while on Saturday. Still can't believe that she's in another state. She did say that Adia took the "disappearance" of Scout with no trauma whatsoever, which puts my mind at ease... I didn't want to be hated forever as the girl who stole her cat. What are the odds that after just taking the cat from an-originally WC pal, that another (Marie) would send out a plea for someone to take her cats as well? Sorry, babe, but Scout's already nicely settled in... and well on her way to ruling our little family.
