Ugh same thing happened to me on freecycle. I freecycled a dining room set that ws four years old and in really good condition. Some woman emails me saying she wants it and the lost everything in Katrina and were relocated to NJ and blah blah blah. Two weeks and four excuses later I gave it to my neighbor's sister because she actually showed up to get it.
I did use freecycle for an armchair though and had absolutely NO problems. The woman called when she was supposed to, came when she was supposed to and even got the girls a book and why it's good to share (she was a teacher.)
So I don't know. I'm kind of mixed on it but man that lady was a PITA. Sorry you had to meet one too.
