Aside from my rather spirited last entry
Mar. 10th, 2004 10:37 amThings are going pretty well at work. I'm just SO busy. It's not worth going over (AGAIN), but I will say that TPTB (the powers that be, for all you non-with it peeps)... in this case that means my current-soon-to-be-ex boss... have decided not to replace me.
I could take this as a monumental slap in the face. I could get all pissy about how they really have no concept of the amount of work that I do for many, many, many different offices on campus, and rant about how "they'll see when I'm gone!" but I'm not going to. Why? Because I don't have to.
The two secretaries who will be taking over my duties (can't you just picture my sniggering right now?) are already working full time on their other duties and are pissed that they're being expected to do more (for no more pay). The other people on campus are appalled that I'm not being replaced, particularly the Dean of Students, the Director of Enrollment, the head of Marketing, the Financial Aid Director, and the President of the University, to name a few. Heck, if they want their numbers to plummet, they've picked on a grand old way to figure out how.
The Dean actually asked me "Can I have the Econ department put a low cap on their financial aid offers?" Um, dude? You're the Dean. You essentially have final say over the school for all curricular matters and matters of student affairs and personnel. So why don't you know that you can do it if you want? But mark my words your departments will be in the gutter in no time.
I'm so glad I only have two more days to left.
