Tonight as I drove home I saw a double rainbow. The first was bright, and each band was clearly delineated from the other, and the colors were all vivid in the grey sky. The second was more of a shadow of a rainbow in comparison to the first one, but it was clearly there. Phenomenal.

I've been busy lately. Very, very busy.
The new job is fabulous, classes are hectic, and all spare time on the weekends is devoted to working on the house. All in all I'm amazingly happy and contented, even if short on time.
Good news: Finally, after 8 months we have a wood floor in the foyer and carpeting in the living room. As of Sunday morning we now have furniture in place in the living room and an actual table and chairs set up in the dining room. I've been looking forward to this time for a long, long time. It's not finished yet, of course, but it's *so* much better than it was previously.
Better news: I'm going to Boston at the end of this month for a conference. I'll be there from the 28th to the 1st of May. This is a good thing: I love Boston, I love the East Coast. There are a lot of things about that part of the country that I miss out here, and I'm looking forward to rejuvenating a bit. I'll be out there with three girlfriends from work at the National Association of Graduate Admissions Professionals (NAGAP) annual conference. Yes, I plan to go to the conference sessions and get a lot out of them, but I'm mostly just looking forward to the trip in general. Sonia has decreed that we MUST go to some bar she went to last year for a Little Debbie Martini (apparently it tastes like a cupcake, and the rim of the glass has chocolate sprinkles), and there's no way in hell I'm going to Boston and not eating in Durgen Park. Just ain't gonna happen. Hmmm. And I have my new handy-dandy corporate credit card, so I don't even have to do the initial outlay of money. It's a good thing.
