I was just talking with someone and that conversation clued me in on some things that have been going on ‘round these parts lately. I almost wish I didn’t know. Almost.
Not everyone is nice. They’re just not. If you think they are you’re naïve and you’re fooling yourself. Some people get their jollies by being a-holes to everyone else. Who cares why they do it – just know that they do it and move on. If you think everyone is a bitch and is out to get you and talks about you all the time, you’re also naïve and fooling yourself. Most people are too busy to bother with someone only tangentially known to them and really could care less about the relatively insignificant details of your life.
There’s got to come a time where you finally say THIS is who I am; where you actually take responsibility for your actions and be happy with who you are or try to change it.
You who are reading this know who I am. You’ve seen what ticks me off, and what makes me sad, and what I’ve apologized for in the past. If you think there’s another part of me, you’re right, because you can only ever know so much. But this is about the closest you’re ever going to get to know, because this is who I am to everyone, online and IRL. I don’t speak something to one group and another thing to another. I don’t lie and say I had no responsibility for my actions. I don’t share things said in confidence to me. And guess what? The enemy of your enemy is not your friend.
And if you think what I’m writing may be about you, it probably is.
