I have long been of the opinion that avocados are one of the best foods in existence, and I buy them every week. We probably go through about 5 (small ones) a week since I always add diced avocados to our salads or serve slices on the side if we're doing Mexican food.

Here I was, sitting hungrily at work, annoyed at having forgotten to bring my standard yogurt for breakfast and thinking of drinking my afternoon "snack" of V8 to tide me over, when one of our professors walked in. He came into the office, and set down a bag while saying "anyone want some avocados?" It was a good sized bag, full of ripe and ready fruits fresh from his tree. I took two to bring home, and let everyone else have at them. A few minutes later I went back and there were still several sitting there, looking lonely and forelorn at the bottom of the bag. So I took one, broke it in half (it was that soft!) put one of the halves back into the bag and ate the flesh off the remaining half with a spoon.

Oh. Oh, my. It was goooood.

A tall glass of water to wash it down and I'm now sitting here very contended and consumately satiated. Would that I could do this every morning.

We love avacadoes here too... everyone except sophia... who thinks they are 'not yummy'

meg will eat an entire avacado .... as will jeff and I. we buy the little bags at costco whenever their available.

Matthew won't touch them, Charlie doesn't like the texture and is so baffled by the idea that it is green and he DOESN'T like it, that he optimistically tries them over and over again hoping they will develop broccoli like qualities. I only like them mashed up into guacamole. Mmmm, guacamole!
